About SAWII

This is the official website for SAWII. SAWII stands for the Simple API for Web Information Integration, initially a Java-only API. The current version is SAWII 1.0. Initially SAWII was part of the JSAM (Java Simple API for Metasearch) project.

The aim of the project is to provide a simple platform and language-neutral interface that will allow programs and scripts to dynamically access a logical view of web sources of information, without the need of redundantly face the problems to interact with HTTP and HTML.
The project also aims to contribute to the sharing of Web wrappers, deploying mechanisms to share, search and evaluate wrappers developed around the world.
